While preparing for my 45km shimano endurance challenge today, i was cycling in punggol park when i nearly ran over a terrapin that was crossing the bicycle path. That dumb ass tortoise actually crawled all the way from the pond onto the road and was hiding in it's shell when my bike came zooming by. Forgot to bring my camera or i would have snapped a photo of it.

wow, didn't have much time to blog... everything is in a rush after i came back, settling things, catching up with family members. in any case, i miss those 20 days and everyone in the expedition... i signed up for a 45km cycling event and now am tuning my body to the stress that it would undergo. i also went to check my hip for any damage and i ended up having to be referred to an orthopedic specialist. hope to receive the dvd containing our pictures of the expedition soon. I was once disillusioned about poly people being cold-hearted and cruel but after this expedition, i know that there are still kind-hearted people in this world. i pray that these people would not be changed by the cruelty of society and i have more chances to work with them as the experience was enjoyable, to say the least.

Day 2
Today we went to get the stuff our work groups needed. But as always, IT does not need any hardware at all. Everything we need can be obtained from the internet or through CDs. However, we went to shop for our daily essentials such as spare food, moisturizer for my face and some candy. It is at their supermarket that I see what is efficiency in Thailand. It literally redefined my meaning of efficiency. Nowhere else have I seen cashiers that opt to type in the barcode number than scan the barcode number.
Day 4
Today we went for a mostly cultural tour. Firstly, we went to the Chiangmai museum where we learnt about how chiangmai rose and fell and landed at it’s present state of being a melting pot of traditions and cultures. We then had lunch at chiangmai’s “best” chicken rice stall which in my opinion, cannot match up to that of the chicken rice served at chatterbox. However, the taste of chicken is pretty much appreciated. After lunch, we went to the temple situated on a mountain and we had to climb a very long flight of stairs that even exhausted the few tri athletes we had in LOL. We then went to the palace that the royals use when they visit Chiangmai. I would say that this is the first time I went into a palace and I am definitely impressed by the scenery. Somehow I got the feeling that His Majesty likes amphibians and lizards. They also have an extremely large pond used for water displays that are breathtaking.
We wrapped up the day with another night market shopping trip but I did not buy anything today.
Quite a few “scandals” came up today… probably induced by our VP host going by the name of Addison, hence the hot word. These would serve as good memories for many years to come. Wilson even suggested writing a novel called “Temptation Island, Chiangmai”. I wouldn’t mind authoring it after we gather enough stories to fill up maybe around 10 pages or 20 pages. However, fun as it may be, I think that there should be a limit to this kind of thing as people may get hurt and friends may break up due to misunderstandings caused by the teasing.
We should watch our mouths and know when not to push the limit, though we may mean no harm.
Day 5
Today is the first official work day… busy day today in the afternoon even though the morning was wasted with some confusion in what time the movie maker lesson was supposed to start. However we were kept busy in the afternoon due to many students coming over to us to clear their thumbdrives of viruses. Apparently I overestimated my com’s AVG and I think I got infected as well… guess I will have to wait until the scan result comes out…

Day 2 would be uploaded shortly after as it is in my lappy.
Today is R&R... purely R&R.
Firstly, we went to an elephant camp to see an elephant show and they amazed us by painting, playing music and displaying teamwork to name a few of their stunts.
We then went to the botanical gardens where there was a waterfall. brings back memories of mt. ophir...
After that we went to see greenhouses containing plants that need to be contained in specific climates or have specific behaviours.
Some of the more interesting ones are like the plant that moves to music, with rock music being especially effective. we also saw carnivorous plants like the pitcher plant and the venus flytrap. However, this is the first time that i see hundreds of these plants gathered in 1 place.
I also relieved some NCC memories by volunteering to be crazy. haha. i rolled down a steep slope while the others film me.
Lastly, we went shopping in both a shopping mall and a night bazaar. there, i gained some experience in bargaining and for a first timer , i suppose i faired pretty well though the price i got was not as good as those by ying liang and nigel.

Deep Thinker, Retarded Friend, What am I?
Peace-loving in real life, cruel in cyber-life
Anyway, there's no right or wrong over here.
Say what you wanna, 'cos we're all listening.
