Day 1
Today is a long day… my first time flying to a destination out of Malaysia and I would say it is not too bad. However it may be hard to imagine if it was a long-haul flight to places like china or japan. Had some problems communicating with the locals in thai though… Even simple things like buying food and understanding what is inside a box can be quite tough too. It all boils down to the fact that we cannot read nor speak thai. However this country is also unique in that it is the only country in SEA that was never colonized by foreign powers and hence you can hardly find a trace of English in the country.

Last night, i got attacked by a mosquito swat( special weapons and tactics) team. why do i say so? i was bitten at 5 different spots which includes the base of my leg, my stomach and my back to name a few places that these devious little buggers struck. the strangest thing was that i was wrapped in my blanket and hence they must be rather pro eh...
A short post this time round. ^__^

In preparation for my overseas community service project, Labour of Love, i need to take 2 jabs and partake in anti-malaria pills. it has already been 2 days since the jabs but both of my arms are still feeling sore over the injection <_<
First jab was for typhoid while the second is to prevent rust from killing me or something...
Anti-malaria pills are distasteful, to say the least.
ah well 7 more days to bye bye singapore...
however, i would say that hip hop has helped to accelerate the recovery of my legs and i can say that my legs have regained up to 80% of their former power. hopefully by tomorrow my hands are operational again.
heck, i would trade IT jobs to plant onions anyday... but as Buddha said, if i don't go to hell, who would?

[ 5:44 AM ]
Today was a busy day.
Firstly, i had to travel all the way to mountbatten road which is near kallang, to the SADeaf School where we learnt sign language from our instructor, Jimmy Wong who has profound hearing loss, meaning he can hear extremely loud noises sometimes. His english name has a interesting history behind it. Apparently, when he was young, his eyebrows arched upwards and when he gradually grew older, his eyebrows began growing downwards instead. As the sign language for "Jimmy" involves moving the hand upward first and then moving it downwards, it sort of told the story of jimmy's arching eyebrows.
We were taught the basics of sign language, such as A to Z and basic conversational sign language such as expressing your hunger, thirst or pleasantries. the whole thing took a little over an hour. i also learnt quite a lot about deaf people, such as the degree of hearing loss and under which criteria do people learn sign language or opt to use audio-visual means to aid their communication skills due to their lack of hearing ability. Two mosquitoes, however, kept me distracted as i tracked them flying around the room. (just hope not too many of my friends donated blood to them)
At first, i was rather stunned to find pianos and guitars in a deaf school when i initially helped them to move over to their current location. however, after i attended this course, i realised that even deaf people could play music as some may only be suffering from mild hearing loss and hence can still learn to play music instruments, dance or sing, albeit a lot more harder than a normal person. a living example is my instructor, who can't hear us speak, but is able to attend rock concerts as he can still hear loud sounds.
After we finished the course, we went to our lecturer's house to celebrate the new year. A dinner of KFC and Pizza Hut followed with all kinds of food from these 2 restaurants. For drinks, i had both green tea and fizzy drinks. we then went to mr ho's house and he showed us his spick and spank room, which rather impressed me as it was simple and elegant in it's design. the contents of the cupboard are another story though :p
We also had a bit of wine for us boys. i must say that i nearly approached my limit before alcoholic effects took over. maybe another 6 mouthful and i would be muttering rubbish like a certain someone i knew...
To wrap up the night's event we gambled a little bit, though a little bit may be an understatement for mr ho. i can't bear to think how much he lost to us even though statistically saying, he should have a high chance of winning. i also learnt to play "in between" tonight. i won around maybe 10 dollars in blackjack but i think i lost around 3 dollars to in between. But hey, this is rather good for a zodiac sign that is supposedly to have quite a lot of bad luck this year!
Alright that was quite a lot for 1 day... half a day to be exact. Enough storytelling.
Time to sleep.

[ 7:27 AM ]
Today was very tiring as i woke up at 7am after counting down the lunar new year last night. Firstly, as per routine, i went to my grandma's house first. i won $20 in blackjack in 1 hr :D
then, i went to call on about 9 different houses of my relatives in the Yishun and Sembawang area. that practically took up the whole day but the reward is fruitful, so to say...

My grandma and aunt knew that i was going to thailand for overseas community service and they each gave me an additional hongbao to spend in thailand. how thoughtful! (and it is not some small amount either haha)
i also had a relative who is in year 3 in tp doing retail who is almost a twin of my 3rd aunt even though they are like 15 years apart in age. >_> the strangest thing is that they are not even related at all lol.

last thing... my grandfather looks like someone very famous... this person revolutionised singapore with his guidance... people have asked whether he is the brother of this person! However, i would need to get an opportunity to snap a photo of him!
alright... enough of my babbling... would update my blog when i get the photo of my grandfather.

Firstly, i would need to gather the few people who are able to see the big picture and get everyone to work together. i would probably be starting from those other exiled classmates of mine. Part 1 of my campaign would start on 27 Feb...
We shall rule over the weaklings!

[ 7:42 PM ]
i had enough of petty thoughts and narrow thinking. time to seperate the wise and the unwise, the smart and the dumb. i had hoped that somehow they will awaken after 1 year of being trashed by more superior intellects. fat hope... it is time for change. it is time to leave these people.
exile from these people is the best way. time to be one of the exiled ones, the dranei.
